With the MacBook 29 watt charger and a USB-C to Lightning cable the iPhone sees more power but Apple doesn't say how much more. This is the free version of Power On. Using a USB-C to USB-A adapter and a USB-A to Lighting cable to your MacBook charger means your iPhone gets no more power than using a common 12 watt USB-A charger, both cases means the phone sees 5 volts 2.4 amps. Are planning a slew of new devices, and Europe tries to force Apple Inc. Answered by Anas D Jan 12, 2020This week: My initial thoughts on the iPhone 13 and what it may mean for the iPhone 14. For fast charging all of them are compatible, but the 18W USB C charger is the cheapest, but again for your case you don't need to buy an adaptor as you already have one, you just need the cable in case you don't have it.
Iphone Phone Charger Book Pro Usb-C Software Generally LiveIt’s awesome on the iPhone. The new cameras and software generally live up to expectations but could use some polish. Android devices have had these higher frame rates for years, and Apple’s own iPad Pro popularized the feature almost four and a half years ago. It’s a day-and-night change, and it boggles my mind that it took Apple this long to implement. Moving through home screens, launching apps and scrolling are all incredibly smooth. But it’s still early days. The amount of time a phone lasts is one of the single most important facets of a device—at least for me. Eight years later, the app needs to be revamped to deal with all of the new options. The battery life looks like it’s as long as advertised, according to tests, feedback from consumers on Twitter and my own limited time with the device. The current app design launched in 2013, before features like night mode, RAW photography, slo-mo and the new functions existed. The newest phone just gets some tweaks.Apple will have to get more dramatic with next year’s overhaul, especially as competition mounts. But it’s a harder sell if you have the iPhone 12—a massive update that had a revamped design and 5G support. It’s just not worth the upgrade unless, like me, you’re getting the new model at a very serious discount (or free) thanks to the strong carrier incentives this time around. That means the iPhone 13 is a safe upgrade for anyone with an iPhone 11 or earlier. Of course, this could be a problem for Apple, which has one of the most confusing charger strategies in the industry. Here’s a reminder from an August edition of Power On that highlighted the cluttered state of Apple’s different connectors: The BenchWill Apple ditch the iPhone charging port before it’s forced to change to USB-C?Last week, the European Union revealed draft rules that would push consumer devices to shift to a uniform charging standard: USB-C. Until then, enjoy the iPhone 13—or just stick with the iPhone 12. With the iPhone 14, you can expect new entry-level and Pro models and a complete redesign. Samsung is pushing foldable phones, and Apple is working on its own foldable device that it could release in a few years. The minor changes this year also mean that Apple’s engineers were working behind the scenes on bigger things that will take more time. Watchtower library app for macExpect another MagSafe design to make its way to the new MacBook Pro this year. The Apple Watch isn’t a problem because smartwatches haven’t been roped into the bill, and Macs already have USB-C ports. MagSafe for Mac: MagSafe started its Mac comeback earlier this year with a new round connector on the revamped 24-inch iMac. MagSafe for Apple Watch: The Apple Watch has used the same MagSafe charger since the first model in 2015, but the upcoming Series 7 is getting an updated puck that can charge the watch more quickly and has USB-C on the other end. MagSafe for iPhone: Apple launched its large puck-shaped MagSafe charger for the iPhone 12 line last year. USB-C: Apple uses USB-C for the charger on the current MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iPad mini, and iPad Pro and iPad Air. There are also thousands of Lightning accessories in use that Apple doesn’t want to upset customers by jettisoning.I think if Apple does go through another connector change, it won’t be to USB-C. Changing from the 30-pin connector to Lightning a decade ago was complicated, and the iPhone user base was only a sliver of what it is today. A move from Lightning to USB-C on Mac accessories—like keyboards, trackpads and mice—and the Apple TV remote is also long overdue. The problem lies with the iPhone and its accessories, including AirPods. Those products will be harder to switch over, in part because the installed base is so large. There are over 1 billion iPhones in use. ![]() Post Game Q&AQ: Why does the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max cap the refresh rate to 60 hertz in third-party apps (aside from scrolling)?Q: Is Apple lengthening Mac upgrade cycles?
